Mobile physiotherapy means a registered physiotherapist comes to your home to provide assessment and treatment. It offers the same evidence-based care as in-clinic physiotherapy but delivered in your own environment for convenience, safety, and comfort.

 

2. Who is mobile physiotherapy suitable for?

Mobile physiotherapy is ideal for:

3. What happens during a home visit?

Your physiotherapist will complete a full assessment, review your medical history, examine strength and mobility, and provide a personalized treatment program. Treatments may include exercise therapy, gait training, balance work, manual therapy, neuromotor retraining, and caregiver education.

4. Do I need a doctor’s referral for mobile physiotherapy?

No. In Ontario, you can see a physiotherapist without a referral. However, some insurance plans may request one for reimbursement. We can guide you if needed.

5. Are mobile physiotherapy sessions covered by insurance?

Yes. Mobile physiotherapy is covered the same way as in-clinic physiotherapy under most extended health benefits. Receipts are issued after each visit for reimbursement.

7. What should I prepare before my appointment?

Please have a clear space for movement, wear comfortable clothing, and have any relevant medical reports available. We bring all essential equipment needed for your session.

 

8. How long is each session?

  • Initial Assessments: 60 minutes

  • Follow-Up Visits: 45–60 minutes

  • Neuro Sessions: 60 minutes
    Shorter 30-minute follow-ups are available for specific conditions.

 

9. Is there a travel fee?

Travel is included for Burlington.
A reasonable travel fee may apply for Oakville, Hamilton, and surrounding areas depending on distance.

 

10. Can you help after hospital discharge?

Yes. We provide transitional rehabilitation for clients discharged from Joseph Brant Hospital, Hamilton General, St. Joseph’s, and Oakville Trafalgar. This includes muscle strengthening, joint gait training, functional mobility, fall prevention and strengthening.

11. Do you provide caregiver training?

Absolutely. We offer education to family members or caregivers to help support safe transfers, mobility, exercises, and day-to-day care.

12. Can I combine clinic visits with mobile visits?

Yes. Many clients start with home-based treatment, then transition to in-clinic sessions as they become more mobile. We customize your plan based on your goals.
